Do you recommend that gearbox in petrol engine, for example Fiat 500x? Or it is a dead trap.
How hard and expensive of a fix is this when done yourself? 99% sure this is my issue on my 01 GT… hits all RPMs at 4th unless I turn overdrive off
My mustang is acting up similar symptoms. I'm going to have to do this with my 99 Mustang 4.6. Now I know what to look for when I open the valve body. I'll test the overdrive mode like you said. I didn't know I shouldn't completely put new oil in an old transmission. Thanks for the video.
This video opened my eyes, I will have to look into it, I have a 2005 F-150. That acted the same way. What started the problem, is I went through a curve a little too fast. So looks like I will take a further look at it.
Currently having this 3rd-4th neutral issue in our 2002 Mustang GT... Hoping it's as simple as this...
To clarify, the piece at 5:49 is not the F dog clutch; it is a sun gear which has teeth that engage with the dog clutch when it is hydraulically applied. The F dog is inside the output gear assembly hub, and moves up to engage those teeth on the sun gear, or down to disengage.

The steel plates on the K1 have two smaller tangs (on the outside diameter) diametrically opposite. Should these be aligned ? Do they matter ?
It is not necessary to align them.
Why is this so common to have snap rings break in so many 4R70W transmissions?
I've lifted my v.6 948TE, what are my options for changing final drive, and transfer case gearing with components from a tow package equipeed one, or am I better swapping to a 4.10 or 3.9 equipped Transaxle and rear PTU?

I’m having same issue for past month or so now. Neutrals out after 3rd gear and when I cancel OD pressing button in console shifter it goes back into 3rd. I replaced with another used trans that later found had a broken snap ring, replaced that and installed trans in Advanced Auto parking lot, still had same issue except it wouldn’t neutral out into 4th or shift into at all and so OD button had no effect. I’ve bought another car in mean time which I blew head gasket day after purchase so after I took Gum out of mouth I looked at my old trans and think the band slipped off the piston rod. I don’t know if I have the Will to replace it again but i don’t have much options

Have the red stage 1 in my car put the stage 2 blue in a friends turbo mustang last year took it apart clutches look perfect.
Cut some tabs of that piston for more room to work
To compress the 4-5-6-7-8-R in an 8L90 I use a 1-2-3-4 clutch hub from a 6L90 with an access window cut out of it.

I have a 2003 F150 truck 4.6 motor and I’m having a rough downshift from overdrive to third and it seems to just started happening here sporadically in last week and a half any tips that you may give me by the way your video was great
This sounds line a potential timing issue with the release of the band and re apply of the forward clutches. Could be in the valve body or in the transmission it’s self.

Pull drain plug, 3-1/2 quarts to full on 948TE. ONLY Chrysler 8-9 speed transmission green fluid.
@@seatime674 ZF recommends a LifeGuard 9 fluid for these transmissions, why would you stick to the Mopar part which is LifeGuard 8?
@@bavarianblessed I'm not sure maybe eight or nine are comparable and compatible but on the 948TE which is all of the 2017 Pacificas and up you must only use the 8-9 speed Chrysler Mopar transmission fluid that's green as the owner's manual States.
Yes I understand there might be some compatible fluids and something else recommended but I talked to three different Techs and they say only use the 8-9 speed green Mopar fluid and seriously why would you use anything else, that is specific to the 948TE and in the actual engineered Chrysler manual.. This is a very upgraded Transmission with finely-tuned ports passages and solenoids so anything else I think might be a risk.
Having trouble with my trans on my jeep chch cherokee sport 2015. It surges or misses when changing gear giving a signal jolt. Only seems to be for 1 to 5th gears. Would a fluid change fix this or is it more to do with the computer. Thanks
